Mesh and vinyl look similar on a proof, but they behave very differently in the wind. If you’re specifying banners for outdoor use, the choice usually comes down to two things: how much wind load the fixing point can take, and how much see-through you can tolerate.
Mesh lets wind through, so it puts less load on eyelets and fixings. Vinyl blocks wind entirely, which means brighter colour and blockout — but a mid-sized vinyl banner in a stiff breeze can pull a fence apart.
